One Month Old!

Today Jack is one month old! How much has changed in just one short month! We now operate in 3 hour increments (feedings) and sleep is a hot commodity around our house. Jack has also developed quite a bit and it is such a joy to spend happy awake time with him (awake upset time not so much) where he can hold your gaze and occasionally smile!

He has also done many things in just this month. Some noteworthy milestones: his first NFL game, Happy Hour with some of Jeff's clients, joined a mommy and me group where he now has new friends and out to dinner for Chad's 30th birthday (slept through the whole thing). Often times when Jeff and I have him out at various places such as Starbucks, the grocery store, or running errands strangers will approach us and tell us how brave we are for venturing out with him or tell us of how scared they were with their newborns. For us we find these comments a little odd. Of course it is important to keep newborns protected etc. but come on people we've got to eat and I think we would all go insane if we just stayed in the house! Plus Jack seems to like venturing out so hopefully his willingness to accompany us places continues.

Jack favorites this month are car rides (although the Prius is sometimes too quite when it shuts off at lights), walks in the stroller, sleeping in the sling or bjorn, sleeping with someone holding him and of course eating.

Here are a few photos from the first month!

Cowboys Game!

Sunday the 49ers were playing the Cowboys and we were lucky enough to get tickets to the game. Jack was excited to wear his Cowboys onesie from his Auntie Ashley's family.
We started off the day with a little bit of tailgating.
The seats were great although we were right in the sun!

Jack was nice and safe in his sling.

Family pic!
The trip to the game was a success and Jack slept through most of it. We lasted until the middle of the 3rd quarter when it got a bit too hot and somebody was starting to get hungry. I think Jack was a good luck charm for the Cowboys since they ended up winning the game!

Happy Time!

2 Week Appointment

Apologies for the lack of posts. As I'm sure you can imagine things have been a bit hectic around here so unfortunately my postings have dropped off. After two weeks off, Jeff returned to work on Monday. Both mommy and baby were sad to no longer have him around as he is a great dad. Lucky for me my mom (Grandma) came back up and stayed with us from Sunday - Thursday and now Sue (Grandy) is here until Sunday. So this Monday will be the day of reckoning as it will be "just Jack" and me for the full week. Wish me luck!

Tuesday was Jack's two week doctor's appointment. Jeff was unable to come so my mom came along with us. This was also the first time we met his doctor, Dr. Udovic. Jack was not happy about getting undressed to be examined, but was good overall throughout the exam.

Waiting to meet the doctor.

20-3/4" long (20" at birth)
6 lbs 13 oz (6 lbs 7 oz at birth)
Getting examined by Dr. Udovic. Just as we suspected he's perfect!

After two nights at the hospital we returned home. Jack is a wonderful baby and we are now adjusting to life at home with a newborn. I will post more pictures once I have a little more time.
