Bachelorette in Scottsdale!

The other weekend I flew out to Scottsdale, AZ to celebrate my good friend Leanne's Bachelorette Party! It was so nice to be in warm weather although at times the 95F heat was a bit much. Luckily we were staying at the Fire Sky Resort which has a great pool area. Each morning we had to wake up at around 7:30AM to stake out our pool chairs to ensure maximum sun time! It was so worth getting up and let's be honest, with my growing belly and the constant kicks and punches delivered by BBD this pregnant girl isn't sleeping much these days.

The beautiful bride Leanne!

Much time was spent laying by the pool and cooling off in the water. We enjoyed dinner and a honky tonk country bar in Old Town Scottsdale one night and dinner and a club for dancing the other night. Sadly this is where I came to the sad realization that with my expanding waist line I can't seem to dance like I used to. No more booty shaking for me. :(

It was a great weekend of sunshine, good food, drinks and great friends!

One of these things is not like the other...

One of these things doesn't belong!

Can you guess which one it is?

If you guessed the one on the left you'd be right! My Uncle Allan and Popo came up to SB for a visit and Uncle Allan hopped in to take a belly picture with Ashley and me!
Ashley is 9 months, I'm 5 months and Uncle Allan is pushing his stomach out (although it should be noted that this was before dinner)!

Santa Barbara Weekend Trip

Jeff, Barley and I took a trip down to Santa Barbara to celebrate my mom's birthday and to visit both of our families. We had a great time visiting with Jeff's parents John and Sue catching up and enjoying Sue's delicious food before they left for a weekend of wine tasting! Barley also thoroughly enjoyed his time playing tug of war with John which is always a favorite of his.

Saturday night we went to The Palace to celebrate my mom's birthday along with Uncle Randy and Auntie Mary and Ashley's family. Everyone had a wonderful time and no one held back on the cajun martinis with two pregnant designated drivers.

Daniel enjoyed the cajun band that was outside the restaurant and joined in the fun!

After dinner we went to my parents' house to celebrate with a good rich chocolate cake.

We spent the rest of the weekend visiting Jeff's grandparents and had a great time meeting up with Heidi's family at the farmer's market.

Skeletor

Few, its been a crazy few weeks for us, thus the lapse in updates.

We had another ultrasound appointment this one was the originally scheduled appointment where we were supposed to find out the sex of the baby. This time they took lots of measurements to make sure that everything is progressing correctly. Luckily everything looked good and BBD (Baby Boy Dachenhaus) is healthy and growing. He weighed in at 11 oz which seemed big to me but I was reassured by the technician that this is average.

After having the 3D ultrasound the visuals were not nearly as impressive but its of course always neat to take a look in at our lil guy.
We could see his heart and all of the four chambers working and also got some neat visuals of his skeletal system. Some were a little creepy looking like the one below, thus the title of this entry: Skeletor!
The technician also confirmed that he is a boy which is good since I've already been buying baby boy clothes!

Happy Birthday Anna!

A couple of weeks ago was Jeff's sister Anna's birthday. She and a few of her friends who also had birthdays around the same time had a party at The Living Room in Redwood City. This was our first time going to The Living Room and it was clear why this is a weekly hangout for Anna and her mommy friends to catch up and spend a bit of time away from their kiddos. We had a great time and were glad we had a chance to celebrate with Anna who always does so much for us.
